Straws
Scotch tape /Musking tape/ Double-sided tape, etc.
Ice-cream sticks

For D-Box session, if Robby cannot go, do you want to invite Carmen as the guitarist? She plays guitar :) And I believe she can lead singing session the actual camp itself, hehe.

The sessions are comprehensive. How to bring up how we can use Buddhist values in leadership during the "Building a Team" session? If tell them too obvious it's like very fake also.. haha.

the buddhist values part will come during debrief. we will process the process of them devising team building games..

the idea of team building games came abt as we wanted them to have a hands-on experience on team building!

Dear Kwekyan and fellow Dharmaghosts,( omighost since when kwek decide to call us ghosts, im curious)

Thanks for e efforts and i have no worries at all that the event will run very well in you guys' hands.. =)))))) lolol ok2 i know thats not what u want..

For Icebreakers, I believe that those very common icebreakers are fine, most important is that they are effective And we get ourselves, the participants and the environment to be lively and fun..

Nice one!! to let them propose a team-building game/exercise.. I deduce by having such arrangement, we achieve the following objectives for them:

1) Thinking into What game/exercise/something which can make a new team Gel or Bond or have a group Spirit;

2) Understanding How & Why such game/exercise/something can build a team work/spirit

3) Discovering the challenges/difficulties faced in producing such game/programme; in carrying out such game/programme

4) Evaluating the positive&negative if any, outcomes of the team-building game/exercise, does it achieve what they set out to do/achieve. Share what is done well and not well, suggest what can be done better, other out-of-box ideas for future game/programme

5) Each of them is in fact either leading or being led throughout the process, so they get to experience how to lead a team and/or experince the dynamics/feelings etc in a team setting.

Ok enough..

I try to reflect on the objectives set out very early for the WOrkShop 2009 in Kwekyan's email:

""""As for training objectives, I've discussed with Carmen. Given that it's to train responsible and effective group leaders, we were thinking that perhaps it could be about how to incorporate the Dharma into effective leadership. e,g, how to set a positive example, as well as some simple ways to lead a team.

Maybe bringing in your experience and the other alumni's experience of leading teams: what are the challenges involved, how to overcome them, what to do during emergencies, etc."""""""""

I think the only things still not concrete / thorny issues are the:
- incorporate Dhamma into effective leadership...
--> I noted Cindy's comment that 'buddhist values part will come during debrief' as well as the Wrap Up section(the 3 points),,, I believe these parts will address the above objective yea!!!???

-alumni experiences in leading a team (challenges, how to overcome them, what to do during emergencies)
--> nowhere to be seen in the programme.. My suggestion :: 2 or 3of you share some personal accounts.. each maximum 5 minutes...

Finally, 3 things im still not clear:
1) the 3 Helplines - what are they exactly and how useful are they actually?
2) Issue outstanding - how many clues can they draw?
--> as i dont know what exactly the helplines are, i think i cant give useful comment here. But maybe, Depends on the team.. if they struggle, by all means give them any available clue/help.. otherwise it ll be disrupting/not productive... If they are very good, then 1 clue could be enough...
3) Wrap Up - I just would like to know the elaboration of each point and why these 3 points..

But anyhow,, i guess its going to be troublesome to explain in writing for these 3 things im not clear of,,, so,,, you ll just tell me in person next time yea!!!

OK, its been and going to be very tough on you guys! so jia you and gambatte.. Sadhu3x.. we ll celebrate after the workshop yea!!!
